In Ireland, Barnardos supports children whose well-being is under threat, by working with them, their families and communities and by campaigning for the rights of children. Barnardos is Ireland's leading independent children’s charity and has worked in Ireland since 1962.
In addition to family support services based in local communities, Barnardos in Ireland runs a number of national services supporting parents and professionals with an information resource network and counselling services dealing with childhood bereavement, adoption and a Guardian ad Litem service representing children's interests in court proceedings.
Barnardos is using its extensive experience of working on the ground to formulate a number of public awareness and advocacy campaign to help reach the vision of "making Ireland the best place in the world to be a child."
